A subject was charged in San José del Guaviare after having attacked a dog with a firearm.
Attack on ‘Brave’
On July 20, 2020, in the village of Santa Lucia, in San José del Guaviare, Evelio Méndez León allegedly attacked a dog named ‘Valiente’ with a firearm, causing an injury to one of its extremities.
In the course of the investigation, it was established that on the day of the events, this person would also have disappeared a dog owned by a neighbor. For these actions, the Prosecutor’s Office charged him with the crime of animal abuse.

On the other hand, Luis Miguel Puche Cordero and Jader Jamer Pérez Acosta, workers at a university in Montería (Córdoba), are accused of attacking an opossum while carrying out maintenance work at the institution on April 7, 2022.
Several videos shared on social networks show that these people took the animal by the tail and hit it several times against the ground.
In this sense, the Prosecutor’s Office charged them with the crime of animal abuse.
