The Third Municipal Criminal Court with Functions of Control of Guarantees of Valledupar, imposed a measure to secure detention in a prison establishment on Humberto Manuel Olivella Pinedafather of the baby who died inside a car at the Santa Bárbara de Valledupar motel.

The measure was determined after assessing the arguments and evidence provided by the General Prosecutor of the Nation.
The 23-year-old young man was charged with three crimes as allegedly responsible for aggravated homicide, aggravated kidnapping for extortion and violent carnal access.
In a statement, the Attorney General’s Office, sectional caesarexplained that the defendant today would have taken his partner to the business establishment against his will and forced to leave the baby in a vehicle, while they remained in a room.
The entity also highlighted that the work investigation carried out by the CTI dBecause the motel employees noticed that the car was running, they went to verify what was happening and found the girl in an unconscious state, and her parents in the same condition on a bed.

The minor was transferred to a care center in the city; however, she arrived without vital signs. The National Institute of Legal Medicine established that she died from carbon monoxide inhalation. Likewise, it reaffirmed that the mother of the victim was subjected to sexual assault.
The charges of aggravated homicide, aggravated kidnapping for extortion and violent carnal access were not accepted by the defendant. The defense attorney Fredy Gutiérrez Nieves filed an appeal.
“We have sufficient technical evidence that in due course will take on the relevance it requires,” Gutiérrez Nieves highlighted.
