The Office of the Attorney General of the Nation summoned for the second time the brother of the President of the Republic, Gustavo Petro, Juan Fernando Petro, to render a sworn statement on the alleged network of drug traffickers who, in exchange for large sums of money, want to infiltrate the process of ‘ Total Peace’.
The brother of the head of state must appear on February 7 at the Bunker of the Prosecutor’s Office. Through a statement, the investigative entity specified that since last January 28, criminal news was opened ex officio based on a report presented by the Criminal Analysis Section (SAC) of the CTI.
Subsequently, on January 30, 2023, a specialized prosecutor attached to the CTI issued orders to the Judicial Police to obtain sworn statements and the first summons was processed to two emails that appear registered in the name of Juan Fernando Petro Urrego, however they specified that they have not got answer.
“Between January 30 and February 3, continuous calls were made to three cell phone numbers of Mr. Juan Fernando Petro Urrego to arrange his statement with him, but the calls were not answered. Today, February 3, the second summons was issued to Mr. Juan Fernando Petro Urrego to attend on February 7, 2023 and deliver his sworn statement.
