From Bucaramanga to Cartagena

The idea to take the bus rather than flying is primarily to get a good view of the landscape and small towns along the way, getting the feel of the real Colombia.

Inter-city buses leave from Terminal de Transportes de Bucaramanga with the journey being 12 ½ hours covering 625 km/388 miles. You have a choice of leaving early in the morning or at night. They are luxury buses with fares from 80,000 COP/US20. Indeed, if you prefer to go in a mini-van or car you can do so.

Bucaramanga is a fabulous city with so much to see and do. With many parks to enjoy, the downtown area has a distinct colonial vibe as do many of the neighboring towns.
