In a press conference, the Colombian cyclist Nairo Quintana put an end to the rumors about a possible retirement. The boyacense assured that although he does not have a team for this season, he seeks to continue doing what he likes the most, which is to compete.
“I want to tell you that I am in good shape to continue, despite the latest events. In recent months, in which the rarefied environment in which I have developed is undeniable and the inexplicable wall that has been raised between the possibilities of competing and my desire to continue doing so, I do not give up and continue forward ”, commented the Colombian cyclist.
“Although I don’t have a team yet, I am a cyclist who is still available. I am a cyclist who is still available and I will give my best on the road. I am in very good shape to continue (…) I want to compete again, put on a number. Feeling the need to respond to a team. I need this because the competition is in me, but I also need a better environment to be able to be calm”, Quintana complemented.
For his part, the rider mentioned that in the next few days he will travel to Europe and therefore will not be in the National Road Championships that will be held in Bucaramanga. It should be noted that the press in recent days had commented on the version that the cyclist was going to retire, an issue that in the end has not occurred.
